Licensing

The refrigerant handling licence from the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARCtick) is the one national licence requirement for refrigeration and air conditioning work. The electrical side of an installation is licensed by each state or territory. In Queensland, Business Queensland says electrical work licences and electrical contractor licences are needed for electrical work.

Electricity and running costs

Queenslanders can compare electricity plans on Energy Made Easy. Use your bill's rate for running costs, and check how your tariff charges for the afternoon and evening hours when cooling is busiest.
